One Million Drivers are One Offence from a Ban
April 2006
The proliferation of
speed cameras on UK roads and motorways has dramatically
increased the number of drivers with penalty points
on their licence and it is estimated that one million
drivers are now only one offence away from an automatic
ban, with over125,000 of these claiming they will loose
their job as a result.
Fleet operators are concerned
that some employees may fail to inform them of their
predicament or even fail to inform them should they
actually suffer disqualification.
These findings come
at a time when Fleet Managers are under increasing
pressure with new legislation and are struggling to
cope with their burgeoning Duty of Care responsibilities.
Tony
Williams, All-in-One Leasing, Director of Operations
recognises the difficulties that many managers of smaller
fleet find themselves facing. ÒI
believe that we are ideally positioned to try and support
our clients and help them manage their way through
this difficult mine field and we are providing existing
customers with an online driving licence check facility
to remove some of the
exposure and concerns that they are experiencing.
Prospective
clients that have asked for All-in-One to complete
a full Fleet and corporate risk review will also
benefit from this service with an initial free of charge
Licence check on all existing company
car drivers.
